Welcome to the San Tan Charter School STEM home page. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work with your child during this 2015-2016 school year. Throughout the year, your child will be participating in many exciting hands-on STEM activities. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The goal of STEM is to provide students with real-world problem solving opportunities, as well as an introduction to the engineering design process and a recognition of their own intuitive and creative faculties. STEM allows students to further apply the skills they have learned in their grade level classes, by promoting outside of the box thinking, while exploring new engineering design concepts. It is my hope that this class will create a curiosity within your child for the subject field, as they begin to develop a better understanding of the physics that shape the world around them.
